On Friday
March 12th, the
Fennville Black-
hawks defeated
Bangor in Over-
time to win the
school's first
district title since
2003 and advance
to the Regionals
on Monday to face
Constantine.
Fast forward to the Regional contest with Constantine. For the second game in
a row, the Blackhawks fans have outnumber
to fan base of the team that they are playing. The
student section is going crazy with the play of the team
on the floor.
The Hawks led most of the game taking a 9-8 lead
after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hawks
too control with freshman Peter Alfaro hitting rainbow
shots from well behind the three point line. For the
game, Alfaro hit on 5 3-pointers for 17 points for the
game. Sophomore, Wes Leonard scored 20 points to
lead the Hawks. Leonard hit several free throws in the
fourth quarter to seal the win, 58-54.
Reid Sexton added 9 points and Adam Siegel
scored 7 points while pulling down 8 rebounds and
adding 4 assists.
Junior DeMarcus
McGee added 5 points
to round out the
scoring for the Hawks.
The Hawks will play
Bridgman on
Wednesday in Gobles
at 7:00pm for the
regional championship.
The Blackhawk fans celebrate the district title with the taam.
